Hello everyone! I know this is long overdue, i've been a member of this community since the summer, but i was 'researching' all the work people do, because for my senior show as a fashion major, i'm deconstruct-reconstructing old boy band tshirts (nsync, backstreet boys, and a spice girls too haha). i needed ideas on how to do it and make it look professional, and when i make the final project i'll post it here!
in the meantime, here are some other surgeries and designs i've done which have been inspired here.( follow me )
thank you all again and keep up the amazing work! reworking old shirts is such a necessity in this economy, and youre all so talented at what you do
Hey guys,
I've searched the archives and was unable to find the answer to this. I have several vintage knit sweaters that I want to make smaller and alter. How should I go about this? Is there a certain type of needle and/or stitch length that I should be using? I have only reconstructed things made of "easy" fabric so I have no idea where to even start.
Thanks!
-Ashley

It has been ages since I've posted! I loooooove threadless tees with a passion and i have a kind of constant pile of them to reconstruct... and i keep adding to that pile! here are some of the things i've done, plus some from scratch love for ya.

( non-blurry pictures, more recons, and from-scratch goodness below the cut! )
A few notes:
Threadless is in the midst of their annual Christmas sale, & today every tee on their site is 9$! I just placed an order & can't wait to get my tees. CHECK IT OUT!
Quite a bit of what I posted is for sale in my shop HERE. You're probably not in the mood to be advertised to--it is black friday, after all--and i'm certain you're clever enough to make the stuff yourself. But if you wanted to take a peek, I'd adore you forever!
Kisses!

Hey there! First off, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but I can't seem to access the memories section. On the profile page for the community it says "18,206 Journal Entries, 150 Tags, 0 Memories, 0 Virtual Gifts, 1 Userpic" Is there something I need to do to be able to view these or am I looking in the wrong area? Sorry if this is a stupid Q ;)
On to more exciting matters. I have an oversized tshirt I plan on turning into a tube dress. I'd like to use elastic at the top but I want to spruce it up a bit more and possibly do corset lacing up the side. I've never done anything like that before and my question is, will I be able to do that and still have the elastic around the top to hold it up? If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd greatly appreciate it. Again sorry if this has been asked already but I can't get to the memories so I'm not sure. ;)
Thank you!
